At times ... when I've known the fish bite to drop-down to a zero bite ... I would literally end-up stuffing the handle of my fishing rod,
down-in-between the hand-carry straps and the bladder wall on the Cumberland, and I would troll like this for quite a while.

There were also times that I wished that I could also have out-rigger-ed the rod on this side of my FT as well ...

So ... I did it!

Last night I went to my local Home Depot and spent the $70 for the parts and I constructed a 2nd rod rack w/ rod swivel for my FT.
I tried the new (2nd) rod rack out-this-morning; on the tube, at LAB and I luved it!!
So ... I asked myself
... "why Dan??? ... why did I wait so long to do it!  Wink lol

This great idea was not my idea ... I borrowed it from soggybottom.

Note: I currently own (3) Cumberland FT and so this 2nd rod rack will fit right-up against the other FT 's.

Looks good Dan.
I take it you are using the FlexSeal to protect your reels and give a little grip.

Thanks for sharing.

What’s the purpose of the flex seal?
Never seen it done.

My posting was about the 2nd rod rack that I finally built.

For the past year ... I've used Flex Seal on the ends of my air bladders; of my Cumberland, for protection of the fabric and it's stitching.

I had a partial can of FlexSeal left over and wanted to use it up ....

I've seen it used by soggy-bottom and I liked it, so I decided to use it as well on the PVC end caps on the rod rack for reel protection and cushioning. I'll need to try it out for awhile in order to see if it makes a difference with the performance of the rack.

Thanx for asking.

I discovered some down sides to the 2nd rod rack ....

1) It doesn't fit thru the back hatch of my 2002 4-Runner while pr-inflated and assembled with the two rod racks attached at the same time. Ain't happening!

2) And it's noticeably much heavier.

Back to the drawing board .....

I already have another idea that will work ... a follow up.

THATS A GREAT IDEA.
Forms to the pvc and it protects the reels from scrapes.
Awesome!

Yup!
And I'm still using the Flex Seal on the ends of my air bladders.
