That is right Seven Bass Design is coming to the USA. For those of you that don't know they are a big in France and are looking to reach across the Atlantic Ocean to us here in the U.S.

There will be 8 different models for sale in the U.S very soon. Sales will be through Amazon and I will be sure to give more details once they are there for sale. Seven Bass is looking for use to be the tournament hub for the U.S. as well. Things are evolving and as this unfolds I will be sure to share all info on the board. Just wanted to share this info with all, this is exciting news. Twisted Evil

I downloaded their catalog and it's truly amazing. They're light years ahead of American companies in terms of design, innovation, and depth of product offerings. It will be interesting to see which tubes they decide to market in the US.

That's great news. I purchased my first float tube over 30 years ago and my latest SFC still shows clear ties to those early models. Time for some advancements.

I downloaded the catalog from Clee Fishing and I'm using Google Translate to read it since it's in French.

That black one is actually the SBD and at first glance, I thought maybe it was molded as one piece, but that's not the case. It's basically a conventional tube with cover and bladders, but I think the cover is made from Codura Nylon completely covered in PVC. It's an interesting idea using a tough but lightweight fabric to create the basic shell, and then adding protection with the PVC coating. Seems like it might be light weight, yet bullet proof.

The Bolt has two ideas going on. The shape of the tubes minimizes wet surface and therefore drag and also allows the deep foam cushion to lift you out of the water.

The other big deal is the tackle storage options. The net apron in front has a rectangular section built into it for the shallow stowaway type tackle boxes and basically turns them into a tray for you. Very clever. The side pockets are sold separately and there is a standard size and a larger size that is divided into three separate sections. Load those monsters up and you've got half a tackle store on your tube!

I sure hope they bring these out to SoCal so we can check them out in person!

I hope they stay away from black, not the best choice for an item sitting in the sun without shade.

I am not sure I believe a Nylon I will check. Here is something very unique to 7 Bass, most of there tubes now come with a velcro strip on each side as well as there CLIP line. You can add different side bags on them, they have different types big and small. So now you can add the size you need and place one on our 2 one on each side, or 2 on one side. The CLIP line also allows you a place to clip on your landing net or lip grippers, and another other items you need to add. They are float tubes but they have some different ideas.

I think I mentioned this guys they are looking to us to tell them what we think, as well as is there any other ideas that we think they should try to improve on or create. I am so looking forward to getting a chance to get in one sooner then later.

I had this idea last Sunday and then forgot to tell you about it, so I'm glad you said something again.

I would like it if my valve cap had a built-in relief valve. As you know, here in Southern California, we can have serious temperature swings during the day. Cool mornings can give way to hot and sunny days and that means significant pressure changes in my tube.

All tube makers warn you about this and expect you adjust accordingly, but it would be cool if I didn't have to think about it.

I'm probably more sensitive to this issue than some, because my basic setup involves strapping my iPad to my tube and so leaving the tube a little soft to allow for expansion is kind of a problem and so I end up going for basically full pressure in the cool morning, which means when I'm out on the water, I have to periodically squeeze the front of the tube and check the pressure and vent as necessary. I usually have to let some air out around 10:30 or so.

There have been days when I haven't used electronics, so I was able to follow recommended procedures and leave the tube a bit soft, but even still, I was amazed when I got out of the water at noon by how much the pressure had gone up when I wasn't checking it, even though I left room for expansion.

We all know that over-pressurization is deadly. It stresses the cover and the bladder(s) and I'm sure it is a huge wear factor in the life of the tube.

Black would be a bad color for a SoCal salty like me. Can you imagine how hot that son of a gun would be on an August day after 5 hrs out in the sun? The pressure swing would be insane.

So a relief valve would be a relief.

Jeff if you have the Seven Bass Catalog in English I would love to get a copy of that from you if I could--assuming the copy you have is electronic (PDF or similar). You've officially piqued my fisherman's curiosity. Smile

Thanks,
Bryon

I was looking online about relief valves for low pressure. I am sure you could remove the cap holder on the tube and thread on a valve. I looks like it can be done.http://www.generant.com/relief-valve.shtml

FWIW, I downloaded the French catalog and since it's a catalog, it's really all just blurbs about the individual products. Those individual blurbs are short enough that you can easily copy/paste them into Google translation utility and read what they have to say.

It's a bit of a pain, but it's simple enough and I've read much of it. It reads like advertising. There is some mention of Cordura Nylon and PVC bladders, but I would want to know the construction details for each of the different models.

Thanks Bob--I did as you said and you're right, it was easy, and kind of fun too. Smile

I am intrigued by these tubes. I look forward to learning more. What I'd really like to see is some user reviews, and/or a side-by-side comparison of features and performance with some of the popular tubes in the U.S. like the Cumberland, Fish Cat 4, etc., but obviously I will have to wait for that.
I wonder who their distributors/retailers will be in the U.S. All very exciting!

What I can say is that the distributor is on the East cost and they will be selling through Amazon. I am hoping in time we might become a distributor as well on the West coast but that is just an idea at this point. I am also looking forward to seeing these tubes and trying them out in time.

Oh right I forgot that you'd told us about them selling through Amazon... That's actually great for me as it makes it so easy to order one. Good stuff.
