I went to the Office Depot and I had them laminate my 2017 Tournament placard and the qualifying fish species with their qualifying measurements list, using their heavy laminate.
Their lighter laminate leaked twice on me during the earlier Trial Tournament (not recommended). I used clear Gorilla Tape to attach it.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I went to Home Depot and purchased their corrugated plastic sheet in order to make my lap tray flat and sturdy but still light in weight. I used SS rivets and black Gorilla Tape to attach it to (1) factory tray on my Fish Cat Deluxe 4 FT and (1) modified tray on my Cumberland CA FT. Works great on both.
The plastic tray also adds protection to the top of my legs from fish species like Calif Scorpion Fish, Halibut and the barbs from the Bass. I try not to wear waders but I prefer to wear board shorts year round ... so I welcome the added protection against being stuck or bit through the flimsy netting of the stock lap tray. Things that the FW tubers don't have to concern themselves about.
As you can clearly see ... the bump board is a Rapala and it almost lays flat. I used clear Gorilla Tape to attach it.
I had also drilled (7) seven 1/2" drain holes to prevent water from ponding or from caca building up on the tray.
Note: This particular tray is the tray that I use on my Cumberland CA FT. It was originally designed by LOLLY and I made a few minor modifications to make it to better suit my needs.
Please feel free to use any or all of my ideas.
It makes taking the measurements and photos of my landed fish much easier and much more accurate.
