Hi everyone, I just wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. My name is Don and I'm from Charleston WV. I'm 37 and I've fished all my life. BUT I'm JUST getting into tubing. Yesterday I picked up a Cabelas Fathers Day sale item - the Classic Accessories Clark Fork Pontoon for $249. It's regularly $349. I know it's not a crazy high dollar foat but I felt it was a good chance to get into a decent beginners pontoon without blasting a lot of cash. I literally just found this site this morning! I'm really looking forward to digging through the mod forum and tricking this thing out. I've done several guided float smallmouth trips down the New River here in WV in the past but I've never had to row myself (lol) so I'll have a bit of a learning (and physical conditioning) curve there but I'm super excited to get out there. I have two other friends that recently bought tubes as well and we're looking forward to float fishing the Guyandotte, the Little and Big Coal Rivers and maybe the Elk... as much as we would love to, we are all in agreeance that the Clarks Fork probably wouldn't be the best choice for The New River but would should have plenty of other options to keep us busy....at least for this summer. So if anyone local to the WV scene would ever like to join us for a float or has any general advice or info about another good local smallie float, just give me a shout and lets get togther and get out there!!!

Welcome to the forum. I love your area of the country. Spent some time as a Navy Recruiter some years back.

You'll love the people here. Nice forum.
