Nice Job on that trout Bro .. we more then likely wont see a trout season at corona this Year due to the water level in the lake the deepest part as of last week is 5ft by the damn . we need rain badly for every lake !!

From Corona Lake :
Corona Lake, like every lake is low due to the drought. Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District, who owns the lake and water, has been adding water to help keep the level from dropping too quickly. We have been given notice that they soon will be required to stop adding water as part of their conservation requirements from the State.

Hopefully the Lake will get some rain out of the forecasted El Niño conditions and we will have another fantastic trout season. We will just have to wait and see.

The Lake and the water is owned by the water district. It has not sold and it is not for sale. The fishing operation has not sold and it is not for sale. Fishing will continue, but we need rain.

Thanks!

I do realize we’re in a crippling drought and read somewhere we’re close to the 1977 California reservoirs water levels which are extremely low. It’s been three years that our Golden State has been affected and I guess I just needed a reminder of how severely low we are. Thanks for the 411 you posted and the wake-up call to make more of an effort to conserve!  I’m also reminded of the agriculture, wildlife, and ecosystems that depend on this precious H20.  I will make it a point to be more water wise!
I can live without trout plants in our local lakes what really hurts is the declining population of the native species in our state. We all know what happens If fish can’t or are redirected to spawn

Thanks

Thanks Renegade, you are right about the tail. I think if that trout would of had its full tail it would of taken me way longer to fight it in.

Question on the weight though. I caught a 36" trout a couple years ago that was probably just as thick and it went 20lbs.

I know right? it makes you think at times for example
this carp was 6.12lb
" />

and this trout at 6.13lb
" />

almost the same weight but one is longer than the other. The carp was short and fat and the trout was skinny and long Shocked lol!
