I have a Shimano bait caster that needs a new bearing on the handle side and a couple of the
Drag washers are missing but if I go to look up the
Parts It gives me 5 or 6 different ones of the same model so I have no idea which model I have but
It says on my reel bantam curado cu 201
All the ones I see on shimonos schematics say
Cu 201 e6 e7 or some other letter and number
But no bantam cu 201 anyone know how I identify
The right one or should I just send it to Shimano and let them repair it ??
The reel was given to me so I'm not in it for any cash at this point  is it worth having it repaired ??

Thanks for any info

Well the Reel is in the $40-50 price range if working and is Discontinued. What you are talking about replacing will cost around $15-20 for the washer's and the bearing if you can find the parts. In my honest opinion I would look the reel over closely and determine if it would be worth it to hunt those parts down , it may give you a yr or 2 more life on the reel . Other wise your not out anything right now as the reel was giving to you .

Parts list for you  : http://www.ereplacementparts.com/shimano-cu201-curado-baitcasting-reel-parts-c-200301_200303_200633.html

Those reels are work horses. They're not the prettiest or the lightest but they'll work when you need them to work. They also hold up to abuse and neglect really well.

Like Wes said, it's a discontinued model which is why you are having some problem locating the info you need.

those thing are sweet, but like wise was saying parts from shimano plus shipping and then u not messing it up is better off shelfing it and getting a citica or curado. the bantam reel is a japansee version because they are very old. but we get them in the reel service area and they usually are not fixable due to gears and bearings are not replaceable due to size. but yah those schematics are a pain to fine for them old bantams

here's a long shot: look up your local bearing/drives and gear shop. Take the bearing in and if you are in luck, they'll have a replacement in stock.
