Very funny, but, knock on wood, it has never happened to me. As one of the guys said, you can keep the rod from over bending by the angle you hold the rod to the fish. Most rods are not meant to bend into a "U" shape. Lifting a heavy fish into the boat is also a good way to break a rod. That being said, those that broke on the hook-set definitely had a problem!

When braid first came out, a lot of rods were snapped on the hookset. Don't see that happening much anymore. Thanks for sharing those funny clips.
