Them damn freakin seals /sea lions. Especially at Newport them bastards like to scare the S**t out of you. The partI hate is when they swim towards you and suddenly dive underneath and past you. I had one creep up on me break water within a couple feet and bark as loud as he could. Had to run and check my pants.

I'm always on high alert there at Newport. Well just like any wild animal they are gonna protect themselves when threatened. Gotta give them their space. I always try and look as far down on the docks in the direction I'm heading. Just to stay away. I also try not to make eye contact. Just trying to minimize my chances of a close encounter. Lmfao!!!

OK, back to the Scale subject. This scale works great and is accurate. I have three of them.

A couple years back I found these and gave it a shot. To my surprise it is a quality scale; easy to use and pocket-sized. The hook is a little small, so I fashioned a larger one.

I introduced them to the SDfish boards, and lots of guys there use them.
