I have noticed a lot of small crabs and crab pieces lately when fishing. Even some of the spotties i have pulled up have coughed up whole ones. I went over to the long fin today to get some lead heads and restock on Hammers when I found these.

I think it should be a perfect match to what I have been seeing. I picked up the 3/4 oz model because it was the only one with the red flash. Who else throws these in the Harbors?

Jigs work great, if you plan on using a trailer, I wouldn't go to big. A small craw, or creature type plastic will work fine as will a Kalin grub.

Also, keep a Close eye or a finger on your line, bites can be suttle, with the bigger hooks on jigs, I wouldn't set the hook super hard, you could rip their mouths. Have fun.

I like pile dropping with jigs with a craw trailer looks like a crab that fell off the pilling or dragging them over rocky areas ..the craw trailer is the most versatile one for me you can even swim them the claws put out some nice action
