Does anyone know where I can get one of these rulers (or similar) locally?

Also, what kind of digi scales do you guys use and some of the pros and cons to the one you have?

Isn't this just like the ones at Wally world? I think they are on clearance too @ 7 bucks.

I have a Mustad digital and Berkeley digital. I have no cons or qualms on either. Scales that allow you to tare your grippers are nice. Grippers with scales built in are nice ...and pricey.

I'd rather stay away from Wally World even if it means paying a little more for the product. I just hate that place with a passion.

With your digi's, do they seem to work consistently? I forgot which model it was but I was reading up on a Berkeley and the reviews said it was all over the place. Sometimes it was way over, other times it was way under, and sometimes it would actually be accurate...

Uh,,,, well so far so good. But I don't weigh every fish only the ones that really stand out. So all I can say is so far so good. My Berkley is in the tube all the time and always works unless it needs batteries.

If you won't go to WW then try Sport Chalet. They have them too.

I have the Rapala didgi, that goes to 35#'s pretty accurate too. I think you can get them for around 25.00. I have no need for a ruler, as my stripping apron has a ruler printed on it. Very Happy

I have Mustad digital as well. Its right on scale and the only problem I had with it was at the parris gathering. for some reason it didnt want to read a 5.5lb LMB but it has been working every time out beside that one day. I think the fresh water shocked the system.

The scales that you guys have do they have a "hook" where the fish goes or do they have a clamp like a lip griper tool?

Mine has an S hook, which is dull as not to harm the fish. Also has memory so you can keep track of the fish you caught for the day..

is it barbless? lol!

I just got a Rapala digital from Amazon.com
It's the only one that had over 4-stars (if you believe those reviews), and I think it was $19? There was a $15 off if you buy $50 of select fishing gear special offer going on. Check it out.

Thanks docrunner.

Hammer 4: How or where do you place it on the fish if it has a dull end?

found it.. looks like it's a bit more now. $20.

I haven't tried it yet, so I can't say. But, I've seen it in various fish pics here and on other forums.

I just do a tare on my lippers and then hang the grippers and fish on the scale all in one swoop. Easier for me to manage on the tube or yak...I'm a butter fingers.

Mmmmmm...butterfingers...uhhhhhhggggg... geek
